Monetre Wedding Dresses in Vancouver

Available In-Store Only

Founded in Kyiv in 2020, Monetre is a Ukrainian bridal label led by creative director Elena Batyrieva. Elongated corsetry, precise draping and sculpted skirts recur throughout her work, often within gowns that use very little surface embellishment. Architecture and sculpture are recurring references in Batyrieva’s work, reflected in dropped waists, geometric necklines, folded fabric and carefully controlled volume.

Monetre

The Monetre Bridal Style

Monetre often builds shape through draping and folds rather than surface embellishment. Fabric may cross the torso in a controlled sweep, while a single deep fold can create much of the volume in an otherwise undecorated skirt.

On satin and silk gowns, seam placement, draping and folds remain clearly visible because the fabric surface is relatively smooth. Taffeta gives larger folds and sculpted skirts more body, while jacquard introduces texture without hiding the shape underneath. Monetre also works with crepe, chiffon and plissé for designs with a softer fall.

For Monetre’s 2025/26 bridal collection, Batyrieva drew inspiration from marble sculpture she saw in Rome, particularly the ability of sculptors to make stone appear unexpectedly light. You can see that influence in the collection’s substantial folds and shaped volumes, which create presence without making the gowns appear visually heavy.

In Monetre wedding dresses, corsets often extend the bodice line rather than ending at the natural waist. This can make the torso look longer and shift the balance of a fuller skirt lower on the body. Monetre also uses lace-up construction in many styles, and the brand offers individual tailoring alongside its standard sizing.

Monetre at Luxx Nova

If you are drawn to satin gowns but find a classic slip or A-line too familiar, Monetre takes that restraint in a more sculptural direction. A longer corset, sharper neckline or unexpected fold can give an otherwise unembellished gown a very specific character.

Monetre also extends beyond the usual idea of a minimalist wedding dress. Alongside close, fluid gowns are designs with pronounced skirts, lowered waists and sculpted fabric, all treated with the same restraint in surface decoration.

Luxx Nova is Monetre’s Vancouver stockist, with selected gowns available to try in our boutique.
