We’re thrilled to share the beautiful wedding story of Shelli & Kristian, one of our beautiful couples who tied the knot on August 9th, 2024. From a romantic proposal to a stunning private reception, Shelli & Kristian’s journey is nothing short of magical.
The Proposal
In August 2023, Shelli’s partner Kristian planned the most romantic glamping trip. Set in a charming wooden tent house above a serene lake, with views of pine-covered highlands, the atmosphere was nothing short of enchanting. It was there, on the spacious balcony overlooking nature’s beauty, that he proposed, marking the beginning of their forever.
The Wedding Day
The couple’s wedding was a blend of grandeur and intimacy. The ceremony took place in a grand cathedral in Jakarta City, a stunning venue that set the tone for their special day. For their reception, they whisked away to a private villa in Bali, designed in a Santorini-inspired style with all-white architecture. Celebrating with just 16 close friends, they created an atmosphere that was intimate and deeply personal.
Style & Theme
Shelli & Kristian opted for a simple yet elegant green and white color scheme. The lush greenery and white flowers on the long reception table perfectly complemented the poolside setting. Thousands of hanging lights transformed the venue into a dreamy, starry cave, leaving guests mesmerized.
Favorite Memories
A moment that Shelli will never forget was during the vow exchange. Overcome with nerves, she completely blanked on her vows! Thankfully, her quick-thinking bridesmaid handed her the written copy, turning what could have been a stressful moment into a funny and heartwarming memory that brought laughter and joy.
Personal Touches
Shelli’s attention to detail shone through in the personal touches she added to the day. She handcrafted envelopes for welcome notes and placed them in each guest’s room. Additionally, she created calligraphy table decorations, ensuring every element of the reception reflected her personality.
The Wedding Dress
Shelli’s journey to finding her dream dress brought her to Luxx Nova. As a stylist, she had a clear vision of a nude-toned A-line dress with a corset style and delicate floral brocade. The Teamo Dress she found online was inspired by renowned Israeli bridal designs. Shelli’s excitement was palpable as she imboxed the dress, and it exceeded all her expectations. “Despite my concerns about “this would be my most expensive online-checked out”, it turned out to fit flawlessly and was absolutely stunning. My bridesmaid (who accompanied me unboxing the package from Luxx Nova) was amazed when she saw it for the first time. The dress was not only beautiful but also incredibly light and comfortable, unlike many local options I had”.
Advice for Future Brides
“First thing first, know what you want in everything, the dress, the decoration, the mood or vibe of the wedding event, the wedding hair, etc. This might be confusing, but do lots of research in pinterest to get to know more in what you like and what you don’t want. By getting to know what you want, automatically you’ll be driven to getting closer to your wedding dream. And I’m 100% satisfied with everything happened on my wedding day!” – Shelli says.
